Well my bipolar disorder has officially switched states again. Am in the sad mode. Came off of home time and took a load from Dodge City to Chesire, CT. Had a preplan to go back to Schuyler, NE to pick up a load for Lynn, Ma. Got one of those "we need your help" messages. A death knell for a company driver. Drove 133 miles to swap with a load going 197 miles. Am now in Dayton, NJ which was 269 miles mty with over 24 hrs to get here. Would have sat and collected my $50 but didn't want to drive thru NYC during the day and especially for my first time thru there. Got here at 0530 this morning but can't pick up till 1700. Will then be doing a whopping 383 miles that doesn't deliever till 1730 tomorrow at a wally world. No preplan etc.... Wonder how long it will be till I flip back to happy mode again?
Anybody coming to TA remember this- - 98.2%. Thats their pick up and delievery time and its so good because of the loooooooooooong lead times. -
Can anyone tell me if these are still the rates....also any team lease operators out there that have been around for maybe a few months tell me there average miles per week...
No negative comments please about leasing...I ALREADY KNOW THEY SUCK! Just need to find a place hubby can get experience since I already have it. Its hard to find companies out there right now. He just got laid off a very good paying job. He has always wanted to drive so this is more so he get get that out of his system while leaning more about the loads boards, brokers ect for when we buy a truck ...if we buy a truck. I know they suck you dry just wanting to know a little about how bad .... -

There is away to make money at transam I learned it and ill give you the tips
1.Learn to play with your logs match 1-5-9 and fuel there points system is friendly if you firgure how to manage it I could log 800 miles aday with no problems.
2. Keep on you dispatchers arse to keep you preplaned 1-2 days before your empty if your lease look at the Drop dead time for meat loads if 2 days out refuse it and get something sooner.if this fails call lee chattum if your out of rockwall he will get you better miles.
3.Home time is what really sucks here you go home it will take 2 weeks to get back to the money If you dont go home but once every 6-8 weeks you can make alot .
They seem to send you home 3-4 days before you want with just enough to cover truck pay etc.
Following week you will get just enough to cover truck pay then 3rd you will start going up again.
They where not bad for a bad time why did I quit??
Going back to hauling cars
Good luck with them

Well I certainly understand why you quit Transam, My husband and I are in the same boat. Transam promised home time for just 2 days after on the job training and 2 weeks solo, Unfortunately he didn't make it home for 3 weeks then when he did he got to Omaha on a Sunday with a load that couldn't be dropped till Tuesday. Wednesday & Thursday was vacation and then they sent him to Rockwall for a P.M. and he was there Saturday and Sunday. So he only was asking for 2 days off after 3 months but the way they had him scheduled he got no pay for a week.
Since his trailer was loaded he couldn't get the pay for sitting at Sapp Brothers in Omaha for 2 days then of course vacation for 2 then he didn't get pay for Saturday at Rockwall don't remember why and they don't pay lay over on Sunday.
They just gave him 48 hrs to deliver a load that was only 85 miles away.
He's now headed for Chicago and planning to get home next weekend. he'll be out 3 weeks for 3 days home but there won't be any money when he does get home to enjoy himself.
He ran into his old room mate from Olathe yesterday in Dodge City and that guy actually had a pay check were he owed the company $58.00 he said he runs about 2200 miles a week. What the hell.
Don't know how much longer we can save our home,I'm already running about 1 month behind on everthing. It pisses me off because your all out there trying to make a decent wage living in a truck putting up with all the bulls--t and they just are screwing the hell out of everyone.
It should be against the law. Sorry but I'm really upset at Transam. Like everyone else I'm sure we just want to get a decent days pay for a decent days work....
Ps.
He was just moved from Olathe home base to rockwall, don't have any idea what that's going to mean.
Good Luck everyone I guess you just have to hang in there. -
Am in the same boat. Sitting in MA after having 48 to do 580 miles. Place is closed on Sat. Doubt I'll get the layover pay either since I'm also under a load. Hope Rockwall is better for him and wish ya'll good luck.

i see no one has posted about Trans Am for awhile, so here i am 6 months later. Right now me and my hubby are on our 4 days home time which we take every month the 1st thru the 5th. We never have a problem getting home for our 4 days. When we first started out we had to wait 3 weeks to go home but that was no big deal. We were behind on our bills but got caught up on all but one. He is a company driver, we are making good money, more than i ever made being a CNA. Our home terminal was Olathe till 2 months ago when we got transfered to the Rockwall one. We had a good dispatcher now we have a crappy one. We get swapped all the time. But the money is still good. Other than mis communication and a few other minor problems Trans Am isn't bad. Every company has its problems no matter where u go. As for the lease i would never do it.
