Before I got Peoplecrap in my truck, I had always used Omnitracs. Omnitracs is far more driver friendly than Peoplecrap.

Try editing your logs after you forget to go off duty for a break with Peoplenet. It's absurd. With Omnitracs, fixing non-driving time errors was a few seconds work. With Peoplecrap, it takes fifteen minutes.

That works. Not to be mosey but assuming you run correctly (keep that left door shut), is 850-1000 after tax fairly easy to attain with them?

I am on the Hershey/Mars account running between GA, IL, PA, and occasionally TN and NJ. My shortest load is a bit over 500 miles, longest about 900, not including deadhead miles, which rarely exceed 100 miles.

There are around 20 different locations that I see, some often, some almost never.

About half of my loads are drop and hook at the same location, never touching an empty. The other half I drop at one location, and take an empty to a nearby location, washing out on the way, and drop empty to grab a loaded trailer.

I do not get a lot of all-driving days, but I have only had to sit and wait for a load once since I got on the account.

All the scheduling has large windows. I can run all full days driving till I stop for a 34, then continue, and it is almost never a problem for me to take those mid-trip 34's.

It really is a sweet gig, but i busted my tail for a year OTR, driving more miles reefer than most dry van drivers, constantly poking dispatch for preplans, etc.

The pay is .02 less than OTR reefer pay, but the strong miles and drop and hook loads make it well worth it for as long as I want to run hard.

Every company should try to do it like that. It would make a lot of their drivers happy.

As far as HOS goes.....ive been driving local for about a year. The elog we use gives me an option that I can only use once for an exemption of
    *30 min break
    *2 hour extension to drive
    *in climate weather extension.
I used the first two the most.

I am also looking to make the switch to OTR. I want to give up my apartment and put my stuff in storage. Just get a p.o. box. Do company's allow this?

I dont think many companies care where you get your mail.

The government though, sometimes they have issues with PO boxes. Driver's licenses being government issued, this can be a problem. Change your address to a relative's for the government, and a PO box for everyone else.
