I can't either, but I believe if it would have been over the limits for cracks, the vehicle would have been placed OOS.

Old post quick question. I attached some pics can anyone tell me more about OOS or violation on these shoes? I JUST replaced all 4 drums and pads in March of this year. They’re not cracks but like tiny baby chunks missing. I know the regs mention cracks or missing pieces. So it’s probably bad. But what caused them to do this so quick and I don’t load heavy that much nor brake hard.

By fastener, would that be on the underlying side where the rivets are?

Fastener would be the rivet. From the NASOOSC “Portion of a lining segment missing such that a fastening device (rivet or bolt) is exposed when viewing the lining from the edge. (393.47(a))”

You're fine, those are stone chips. We get them all the time. IF you have cracks down to the shoe base, or a large chunk taken out of the shoe lining, then you have to replace them.HopeOverMope Thanks this.
