That night on Snoqualmie I found myself slipping and sliding when other trucks with chains were just cruising around me. It had snowed hard and fast. The snow was a foot deep on the road going over the top and it took me 90 minutes just to make the 20 miles from the chain-up area to the T/A. On two other occasions I got stuck in the spot I had parked and the AutoSocks just spun. They don't have anything to grab the road. They just provide a slightly rougher surface against the ground. They are a very poor substitute for chains.

 

Yep. They are just nylon bags.

 

Holy balls those are expensive for something I could throw together with crap laying around in the shop

I see the problem now, you didn’t buy the 10 inch extender kit combo.

 

Did you put them on the drive axles? In ask because usually when people say tandems they are referring to the trailer.
