No, it goes to the compressor and runs on top of the water pump. When that leaks, it looks like the water pump is leaking.
I will try to snap a picture of it later.

All the water pumps leaked from the weep hole. It was very obvious from the water marks left from the stains and also seeing the wet stream on the pumps.
When removed it was visually confirmed.
I know what tube you are talking about. It branches out of the tube from pump to thermostat housing and runs behind bracket the cooling fan mounts on. The smaller hose goes to air compressor. That hose is/was always dry.
Thanks for the thoughtBig_D409 Thanks this. -
Ah okay no problem! Shame you haven't had the best on these water pumps.
-
I'm getting better at changing them. First one took me about 4.5 hours. Yesterday was about 3 hours.
-
This same sequence happened to me.changed pump 3 times all warranty, not labor, 4th time I bought a pump from cummins.
First three I replaced in two months. This fourth one it's been a couple weeks, still got my fingers crossed.Smellfunny Thanks this. -
Well I am about to change mine for the 4th time in a year an a half. 1st 2 came from Truck Pro. This one came from Cummins, got 6 months out of it. Needless to say I'm not happy.
-
The pump from Cummins lasted 6 months. Replacement had to change in November 2017.
Knock on wood.
The last one I put on in June 2018 I bought from International dealer. Haldex brand cost under $200.
This last time I flushed the cooling system and replaced antifreeze, went back to Green fluid.
Not sure if the precharged antifreeze was affecting the pump seals.
I also changed the filter from a charged to a blank. -
Well it happened again. Water pump leaking from weep hole. Just about 6 months of usage.
Little chilly out here today in the teens, same for a high tomorrow. Someday I'm gonna get me a garage built.
Oh well at least it will be sunny.
Got a rebuilt pump from interstate McBee $285.00 -
Pretty sure I found the problem when I overhauled the motor in January.
1 or more of the injector/cups was leaking diesel in the coolant.
My nose doesn't notice minor odors.
When I drained fluid this time, I could smell the fuel.
It must have been leaking from the day I changed the heads 3 years ago. 6 months later is when 1st pump started leaking.
