I did 6 months at Swift before landing at my current company. I'm in west Texas as well, but not in the oilfield. Made just over $1,700 this week and really didn't do much work. Good jobs are out there, you just have to start talking to other drivers when you see a company you might like working for.

    Yup.

I get 3000 a week or so. CPM is low. I just get nervous about going somewhere else and getting a higher CPM, but fewer miles and it’s a wash financially. I can’t stand sitting. I’d rather run hard.

i worked with werner only until i was checked out. i left right as i completed training, tested out never went back for a truck. i had a wife, 1 child at the time (now 2 kids), and a house of our own. the separation from my family was too much to tolerate, i hated every day. i am still happily married.

i was a wener employee for about 3 months, that's how long it too their inefficiency to get me through their teaming i mean training program. LOL. i bailed for local work i wasnt going to put up with it for 2-3 years. i did dump truck for a summer and when the season ended i went to walton milk hauling.

tomorrow makes 1 full year at walton milk hauling. i was given an almost brand new T880 day cab with an 18 speed manual (52K miles on the clock when i started driving it). this year i will make close to 60K. i work 8-9 hours per day, home daily. i start my route at 6am and am done by 4pm at the latest. i gross minimum $1050 and as much as $1300. im quite content here for the foreseeable future, it will be my home as a driver for some time to come. i also am now eligible for a week of paid vacation (6 days). i have a set route and pickup the same farms.
