These numbers are rough estimates because I don't have the exact numbers on me. But last month, we did something like 450 service calls, with an average of 30 miles each, so 13,500 miles. The big boys carry 110 gallons of fuel (50/60), the smaller ones carry 60 gallons of fuel. Average mpg is 11. So if you say on one of the smaller ones that's 660 miles out of the tank. That's 20 refills if you're just running the one truck, which works out to be $180/refill, or $3,600 for the month. Which works out to be $43,200/year.
These numbers aren't exact, like I said. For one I don't have the numbers in front of me and for two it's going to vary by truck, depending on what is going on. The good news is that 1) dispatch fee covers a good chunk of fuel costs 2) anything over 25 miles is a bit extra ($1.75/mile, $8.75 extra per dispatch on average), and 3) our contracts more than make up for it.DriveWA Thanks this. -
Anyone here have a semi truck run off electricity? And if so could you share your mileage costs?
