Can anybody tell me if TMC expects you to do the whole 5 weeks with a trainer or will they cut you loose if they feel confident you can run on your own? Also, do they run much freight through Georgia and the southeast?
training length

They might if your trainer is confident in your abilities. That will be on a case by case basis and I wouldn't count on it, though it has happened. -
I was refering moreso to the trainers confidence in the trainee but I get your point and thanks for your answer terrylamar, what about loads through Georgia and the southeast? Any take on that???

I see you have 10 years trucking experience. If it is recent, yes, it could cut your training time short. Experienced drivers with recent experience but no flatbedding experience usually are with their trainers only two weeks. If you have flatbedding experience and do well at orrientation, you might dispatched at the end of three days. Again, don't count on it, but it has happened. -
Well all I can do is hope for the best, I really need to get on my own and start making some money, haven't worked in about 3 months, my experience was class b(owner operator dump truck) 6 of those years I was a mechanic/wrecker driver, hopefully knowing my way around a truck and a little mechanical aptitude will put me one step closer to the prize

You're going to find life in Des Moines a lot easier if you play dumb.
