Well sit tight because most trucking school graduates will be lucky to see half that with the bottom feeders that hire them .

Yeah I agree with rick on that..

Draw your unemployment .. Be lazy .. Be happy .. Take a government bailout..

If things were so good for u I guess you wouldn't be on here

By the way that was NET after taxes

Gross was 1129.67 for 4.5 days work
    3% went to 401k

Good luck if your making more than that in construction unless u own the company u are not paying taxes but qtrly unless other wise but anyway

No need to defend it you are on this board looking

Wow you must be in a better construction area then I am. Im hauling concrete at the moment and My last check take home for 2 weeks was 817.50. I was making that a week before I decided to stay home and slow down for a bit. the bit turned into 5 years lol. But I was making more then that till economy took a dump but still not what I was making OTR and I was having to work 60 to 70 hours to match it and odd hours. Looking back I should have just stayed over the road.

So good luck to you in construction because I have seen it go down hill unless you are already on a large project to get thru this mess, not alot of new stuff going where I live.

Sorry to inform you, I am not taking a government bailout thank you! I guess I consider myself blessed to make an average of $300.00 a day after taxes!

Things have picked up for me greatly. I have owned my own company for over 20 years. Never advertised. Not even in the phone book. All word of mouth.
I am on here because I have graduated from CDL school and possess a full boat CDL. I paid $4000 out of my own pocket to attend the 6 week program. I had a CDL way back when and never renewed it. I am on here to see what is out there right now. A lot of my friends from school are looking for jobs. One day when my youngest is grown and gone, the wife and I are going trucking the good ole USA sight seeing and working. She is retired from the US Air Force after 24 years of service. She has a nice pension and truck driving has been a passion of mine for years. I have driven every kind of vehicle hauling all kinds of construction freight. I have hauled flats, vans, lowboys and tankers. Owning these I didn't have to have a CDL so I was told. Now I have one and am legitamate. My first experience was in 1978 driving a 1959 AutoCar with a 2 stick. Remember those?
Anyway, don't assume just because someone is on here that they are hard up for a job. Some people have a dream to fulfill and I'm here listening, watching and learning. I'm hoping to make friends and aquaintances. I drive down the roads here in NW Ohio and watch all the trucks, read the trailers and see what companies are out there. I also wonder if any of those drivers are on here. If you see me, give me a blast on the air horns!

    Keep on trucking!!

Yeah , I run 75 regularly and have spent nights at the Flying J off 280 .
The best way for you and your wife to see the country would be in a expedite straight truck - nice big sleeper with all the comforts of home and one or two days between loads to sight see .
The company my Dad and uncle worked for had these twin stick Autocars .

If this is truly one of your goals then you shouldn't insult those who choose to share here. I will take your word for what a success you are in life. I will admit I am a bit suspicious though. Successful businessmen generally don't get there by insulting those they hope to learn from. For all we know you could be some 30 year old pot head still living with mommie.

Thanks for posting the great info. Do you suppose they'd hire someone with 6 months exp? do they do just tankers , or dry vans as well? and also, do they have a terminal by Detroit, MI? Willing to relocate also.
