Hello, this truck is a Kenworth T880. It seems there is quite of bit of white smoke coming out of this black tube on the passenger side of the engine. It's getting into the cab. What is this?

A little bit of information is required. Year model engine you said exhaust do you mean out of the stack or out of the blow by tube
KennyG Thanks this. -
Not sure on the engine (wont be back to work till friday), but its coming out of that greasy looking black tube in the picture.
-
That looks like the blow/by tube, some white oil smoke is ok but if you see a puddle of water under it that is a bad sign?
Oxbow, KennyG and I glide 47 Thank this. -
Thanks, the smoke pours out like its a #### steam engine locomotive and it ends up into the cab choking me out. I guess I need to OOS it.

Picture looks like Paccar MX-11. Are you using coolant?
KennyG Thanks this. -
A small amount of oil mist, vapor is ok. But if its a cloud of steam, it has a issue and engine is dyeing. Get it to the shop, as running it may cause more damage.
KennyG Thanks this. -
Getting an exhaust smell? Burning oil smell? A sweet smell?
Inspect your exhaust from the engine back. If you see any black areas, that's your problem and it could be deadly. If not, and you're getting THAT much out of that tube, yeah, it's probably time for a rebuild/inframe. -
The smoke is pretty white (not water vapor) compared to exhaust so I would assume its burning oil (I cant really describe the smell) and its coating the interior in a slight residue that's attracting dirt/dust. I've only driven this truck 4 times in like 2 months.
Thanks guys, it's a company truck not my own. I just wanted to get a better idea what the problem was so I could write up a detailed report on the issue so the mechanics can get straight to it. I remember another driver complaining about smoke entering the cab but the mechanics couldn't figure it out. ( I think it was a lube tech that looked into the issue because it was on a weekend ).stillwurkin Thanks this. -
I believe coolant causes white smoke. Probably head gasket and smoke is coming in the fresh air intake for heater. Don't worry, you won't have to drive it like that for long,
