I am sorry to hear about your mom too. I got a chuckle out of your comment that she was not a hundred percent 'cause my son's been saying that about me for a few decades! I wonder too what kind of companies wouldn't understand that level of family emergency and what it would be like to work for them? Would it be a blessing in disguise if they did cut you loose?

Money per day is literally more important than anyone's Mom. Easier to fill that truck with a newbie from orientation, preferably young. Orphan and not caring that he is paid .30 a mile.caracelles Thanks this. -
Wow. Tough industry. How is it so many of you still have hearts of gold?

Otherwise you aint alive.
There has been times Ive gotten cold towards family and friends. Especially if I had to choose between helping them a while or being on time with the truck. Ive turn my back on family a few times.
Not anymore. Disability made sure that I turn my back on trucking companies. It's unfortunate. Almost like a ##### that is used up and thrown away when there is no more value.
Trucking has a way of taking everything if you let it. But Family, provided you remember who you are, how much value you are to them (And vice versa) you all will be ok. But for those who do not have family? Well... trucking becomes everything and thus very easy to be very hard.caracelles Thanks this. -
