Manitoulin pays great here in Alberta... I know there is a difference between western and eastern rates but don't know how much. We did some Sysco out of Edmonton here and found them quite demanding.
If you've worked there for that long, any other place would be very lucky to have you.

I work out of Sysco Vancouver. My one year anniversary is coming up...I'll be over $28/hr. It's tough work, early rises, but only 4 days a week. Roadnet's times are out of wack, but noone here really focuses too much on that, especially ont the harder routes where you're fighting through tight back alleys, telephone poles, parked idiots and dumpsters.
I don't know of any other trucking gig that pays as much. I'm 39, feel good, but yea, I can't see myself doing this as 50...upnorthwpg Thanks this. -
I used to work at sysco. The money was excellent i kind of regret quitting but heres an example of stuff you have to deal with. I cant even get the door closed here with my handcart in it. And theres a bunch of stuff blocking the boxes for stops one and two. And they were always side door loading me when it says on the paperwork loading docks on the first stop! Then they call you all day asking why your behind schedule.

Getting my AZ soon and Sysco and GFS came to our school to give presentations, thinking about going with Sysco but the general labour seems tough.

That should be good for something.
WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT fall for the siren song of Owner operating or Lease Purchasing. They are going to royally hurt themselves trying to offload all that smelly company driving expenses off the revenue sheeet onto YOU the poor Owner Operator or Lease Operator who apparently is not a model of success and you fail, takeing all of the expenses right out of Syscos's worry. It's your problem now.
Sysco is being very sneaky doing whatever they can to shake off the excessive debt or obligations just like a lazy horse quietly shaking the saddle while inhaling to hold as you tighten the cinch early in the morning. And you wonder why the crafty beast is so comfortable while you have a #### ride. -
Do it for a year and go to LTL. A year won’t kill you. If it’s too much then try 6 months. Get some experience is the key. Go get your Hazmat and doubles endorsements. I’d go GFS. Sysco is a cluster F$$$ we’ll here in Denver it is.
