On October 19, the US District Court in the Western District of Arkansas ruled against PAM Transport in a case related to minimum wage pay for commercial vehicle drivers.
Just wondering if anything will change.

Good plan; minimum wage.
That'll save the trucking companies millions each year. No more mileage pay, percentage pay, accessorial pay, detention pay, loading, unloading pay, etc.
Too many truck drivers IQ is so low, they can't figure it out.
Now, PAM can start negotiating with manufacturers for "driverless trucks" for the long haul loads. All they will need then is local drivers for the "final mile" to deliver the freight. Lots of retirees will jump on those jobs for just enough money to supplement their retirement income and to get out of the house for awhile.HillbillyDeluxeTruck, WildTiger1990, tucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
Can't entirely disagree. Law of unintended consequences probably applies here .

$7.25/hr x 16 hrs/day x 7 days/week is still only $812/week...BEFORE taxes...and that's IF you never go home. If you're home every weekend, you're only looking at $580-$695/week...again, BEFORE taxes. If that's all you're arguing for as a paycheck, your paycheck must REALLY suck. But you know what? You CHOSE to work there, and you can CHOOSE to go elsewhere, too. Nobody is forcing you to work there or anywhere else that pays crap wages.

When you consider that Arkansas is fixing to go to 11 a hour after making it law on the Ballot this election, the faster PAM complies with this money the cheaper it will be.

Do you really see driverless trucks in the future? I know Steven Hawking and Elon Musk are warning us about artificial intelligence but it seems like the road mankind is heading down.

I am not arguing for Minimum wages.

Ex post facto. Whatever law was in place at the time of the alleged infraction is all they can be held liable for. Even if the minimum wage goes up next week, the wages due prior to that increase will be at the old rate...even if the judgement isn't finalized for 20 years.x1Heavy Thanks this.

The only company that I personally know of paying hourly wages, starts their drivers at 12 dollars per hour

True. I was in one of those moods.
In the past I have advocated minimum wage of sorts for Truckers who get paid as little as possible without it.
