Things are going just fine so far. Most the guys in my orientation group have some years driving OTR. 1 other person besides me is fresh from school. Finish tomorrow, and should be dispatched with my trainer Sunday from Blaine, MN.
Found out today my group is the first group of drivers going to a paperless log system, which should make it easier to hit my incentives each month.
Sounds like a lot of the loads out of the Blaine terminal could take me towards Pa. or Atlanta, which will bring me thru sconnie. Maybe I'll find a way to jump in the boat for a couple hours sometime.
Later....
Any opinions about "Magnum"?

How would anyone here know my trainers name is Kurt?
I didn't even know until yesterday afternoon.
-
Maybe coincidence. He heard a guy named Kurt is a good trainer, then you find out that's who you're getting.
Sounds like a good sign.

Hey guys,
I've just finished training with Magnum a few weeks ago and have been solo now for 3 weeks or so. Kurt was my trainer and is an excellent trainer and all around nice guy. You'll do well with him or if you get him for a trainer. I can't imagine having had a better guy to train with.
Thus far, I've been running all the miles I can handle, plus some. Otherwise, everything with Magnum has been great!

It was mentioned in an earlier post that you had to sign an agreement to pay $100 a month if you didn't stay for a year. Did you have to sign that? And is it to pay for you time with your trainer? If it is as good a company as I have been reading about I don't think I would have a problem signing that because I am looking for a good company that I can be with for a long time.
Also, does Magnum run much into Texas?
I'm glad to hear that you are happy with them and getting plenty of miles. In today's economy, that says something! -
Yep pretty much to offset the training time. But I had no hesitation whatsoever after finding out how good a company it is to work for. Besides, I have no intention of going anywhere, so it was a no-brainer for me.
They do have some freight lanes into Texas. I know they do a lot of Houston, Dallas and so forth.
I came onboard right after IronRyder and in fact got Kurt right after he did. And yes, Kurt is phenomenal. Well versed, laid back, and very good at teaching. I would recommend him to anyone.Southpaw Thanks this. -
Hey Scooter how is it getting home to NC. Do they have alot of frieght coming thru here. Thanks for info, Also how have your miles been on the average.
