    Jason,

The Cross Border Program has not cost one American citizen their job nor caused economic losses to anyone.

    Hi MT,
Maybe I'm new to this (which i am - so if I'm mistaken please enlighten me) but, if freight is coming from Mexico; shouldnt it be dropped at the border and loaded on an American truck to be brought to final destination?
If so, both driver would benefit from the load; if the Mexican driver can take it to the destination on the US side it is in fact taking away from American work.
This post is being made with the utmost respect to your position, I just want to make sure I understand it correctly.

That's like saying freight from Canada should be transferred to American trucks . We have the same obligations to Mexico under Nafta as we do to Canada . The only way to change that is to modify Nafta . There are more and more Canadian trucks coming empty into the U.S. to bring loads back to Canada . Why is nobody complaining about Toronto sending all their trash across the border filling up Michigan landfills ?

Thanks Rick for the mention of Candian trash filling up our state, guess thats what happens when you have a Candian for gov. as for NAFTA.....I think the biggest concern from previous posts on it are the drivers themselves, the equipment and the great possibilities mentioned of illegals gaining entry etc.

I think American companies have worse drivers and equipment . I think illegals will look for a less obvious way to enter .

To be honest, I thought that's how it worked. I think it should!
What i'm saying is why can't American's keep American jobs... We have a hard enough time keeping AMERICANS in American jobs.

Mexican and Canadian trucks can only bring products from their country into the U.S. and bring products from the U.S. back into their country . They cannot haul loads that originate and end within the U.S. . If people don't want Mexican trucks entering the U.S. , don't buy Mexican products !
