I recall PA being a little reluctant to get out and plow snow in a timely fashion compared to NY state. STill a issue?

The Harrisburg news channels and Penndot blame the mess in the Harrisburg area on everyone leaving work early, and of course the tractor trailers. (Abc27 and Pennlive hate trucks) They never said a word about Penndot dropping the ball though.

Back in 2007 I think it was, we had a storm on Valentine's day that was the same deal. Snow, then ice, then snow to finish. Penndot, in all their infinite wisdom, decided to not do anything until the snow ended. They failed to realize that there were thousands of people at work during the storm that had to go home during the storm. Then the gridlock hit. I heard stories of drivers being stuck on 78 for 48 hours. The National Guard was actually out delivering food and gas to the cars.

Of course, there was a bunch of hearings in Harrisburg over this, and a bunch of lip service paid by the politicians.

Obviously nothing changed. I'm glad I sat at home through this one.

PennDOT is looking for temp drivers to plow roads. Who the heck wants to be a temp driver, 0.1% chance to get hired on full time. also PennDOT rarely does anything except play and sleep with each other in the work trucks and sheds. It's mostly all sub contracted work anything major. PennDOT is useless and wonders why can't find plow drivers. Same with turnpike commision, pretend to work doing dumb crap and give away work to subcontractors. this State is a flippin joke.Only thing they pretend to do is plow roads

Edit: the subcontractors pay more then PennDOT. Why work for PennDOT ? oh easy life that's why !
