Canadian Oil Patch Plunged into CrisisSteerTire Thanks this. -
I live in Tampa and work for a Oilfield service company in Hobbs NM, we are considered West Texas oilfield. If you have no experience your most likely going to need to come out here on your own and start applying. The jobs are on indeed, just start applying or show up to thier offices. It's all up to you to make it happen. The big checks are there. In my opinion oilfield service companies are the best jobs. They are more stable then trucking companies and offer the best benefits. I would look into Schlumberger, Halliburton, Nine Energy and BJ's or any other larg company. Good luck.
Sifu, Brettj3876 and Kstrong86 Thank this. -
Thanks all for the replies. From what I gathered I see I’m just going to have to make a trip out there and start applying. Unfortunately I’m not in a position to quit a for sure job for a a maybe job. If my wife was working then maybe. But right now she isn’t and my income is what we depend on. So quitting my guaranteed income for maybe income would not be a smart move. But at least when I’m properly set up I know how to go about it. Thanks again for all the info and advice. I greatly appreciate it. Be safe to all and Happy Thanksgiving

Jobs are easy to get out here right now.

Do you have some PTO or some other paid time off where you could go out there for a few days to scope it out and get the apps filled out and turned in without quitting your current employment? Its very close to a sure thing out there with the shortage of people to fill the jobs........
