Look at a Amazon D C.......look then at a Walmart D C.......Amazon has very few trlrs loaded with freight sitting.........Walmart on the other hand has 100's of trlrs full of freight at any given time being wharehoused out in the parking lot as well as all those line items inside the actual warehouse.......the labor costs associated with the time ot takes walmart to get that merch from its warehouse position , to the customers is far greater than Amazons time ......

That also means that instead of paying for warehouse space to be constructed, Wal-mart is using outside carriers trailers as free additional warehousing. Most outside carriers don't track how long a trailer sits at Wal-mart, so it's a free space until the carrier squeaks.

He’s right! I’m a dedicated Walmart driver(and love my DC and the people there). They contract from my company for a certain amount of trailers for their blitz products or any other reason they may need additional trailers for seasonal products... FYI

This rental you speak of would add further to my point of Walmart having more costs associated with its purchase/ warehouse modus operandi......as compared to Amazons "flow through" operation......Walmart probably has at least a months worth of labor costs for the merch sitting at any given time.....whereas Amazon might have 1 days worth at any given time....

You cannot compare Walmart and Amazon in that way. Amazon is solely an online venture with a considerable amount of their sales coming from 3rd party sellers. Walmart is a much bigger conglomerate that sells their own brands along side other brands. That doesn't make one company better or profitable than the other Just different business practices

But what you're failing to take into account with that argument is that Walmart is gearing up for it. Look at their grocery pick up and online ordering. They're getting their ducks in a line.
