I would not mind a hour alone with a 18 wheeler. The backing is not really the issue, but more of the technology crap inside the cab. Hm what does this button do... oooo launches minuteman missile kewl. //sarcasm

I've been retired for 2 years, pulling our travel trailer around the country living the good life. I haven't been OTR since 2006. Since then had lots of full time experience doing local stuff in the Chicago area. I have been thinking about coming back and doing some regional or long haul OTR.
I would have no issues with doing a refresher 3-5 days, and even going out with a trainer for a few days. I was good at what I did, but never thought I knew it all, and still don't. Being humble and always willing to learn something new goes a long way in life.

@tolson - Abilene Motor Express will probably hire you. Their trucks run 72 mph. They hire drivers that have been off the road for a long time.
