I agree, seems lots of days more people pass me with phone in hand than those will hands on the wheel. It's bad out here for sure, makes driving a truck more and more difficult.
Truck drivers are just as bad, see lots of them playing with phone all the time.

Infographic: Truck Safety Trends 2009-2017
Truck Crash Injuries: 96% Increase
Truck Crash Fatalities: 41% Increase
These trends would suggest as much.Last edited: Nov 27, 2018

I think it should be explicitly stated that this information is from a anti-truck site. The numbers quoted are not only suspect, they are not adjusted for vehicle miles traveled.
Alarmist hyperbole has no place here.06driver Thanks this. -
Plus, even if true... Doubtful yes, but given that it doesn't answer my questy of any stats to show more wrecks since the eld mandate....
-
Well it is listed as a resource on the truckers report as such... Truck Safety Coalition: Promoting truck safety issues to reduce deaths caused by truck related accidents. The infographic cites its sources there, as well.

Well.. Reading their main site tells me they are full of it. Any org that promotes sleep apnea testing is.
The studies done by fmcsa found 0 cases where apnea caused a wreck, much less a fatality. -
Well, go read the data they cited and disagree that it suggests anything then, or wait until the end of the year and check back.

Trust me I will when I get home and not have just my phone.
While I do that, you might want to look up a couple phrases.
"Lying with statistics" and "There are three kinds of lies. Lies, #### lies, and statistics."Hammer166 Thanks this. -
Be careful what you wish for then. You asked for data that suggested a raise in trucking accidents. Of course those stats seem exceptionally trendy, but still suggest that they were based on actual crash data, so there you have it (interpret away).
