I know two guys on an insulin pump on waivers driving now. They only get 6 month cards though, and their pumps are monitored

It’s a year cards and they have to re certify every 3 months.

Walmart pays for their physicals so maybe they are doing the 6 month part. I do remember some 90 day deal with them.

    It is possible though.

I spoke with the doctor who does my physical at the VA and all he said is I need a letter from your pharmacy clinician who prescribed the insulin that you're using insulin and are in control....I started insulin 3 weeks ago I have a phone consult every week and every week they have raised my insulin and removed 1 pill my numbers are a little high but that will stabilize in time I also take a massive amount of diabetic pills at the maximum dose that is why I wanted to transition th insulin and loose most of my pills

I think the year or six month card might be a reflection of your control level and relationship with your particular Endo ..
..the good thing is those stupid rules about the over 100 under 400 are out....

I have had discussions with my Endo and my aic is consistently 6.8 to 7.4 for over 10 years we are moving to a pump and cgm in January mostly because of cost of insulin ....but I have all ways been annoyed that when I am keto I run between 90 and 120 but as the rules dictate at 95 I have to stop and eat crap I don't want to push it back up now we can run in a normal range .....
The old rules as they were rote said I was safer at 300 all day then my 90 to.120 range where I am most allert and comfortable but I am sure she will still moniter my cgm and driver logs to verify compliance because her signature on the form gives her a certain amount of liability

With this new rule about insulin can we keep driving while we start the insulin.
Haven't started yet but I know it's coming and I can't find information anywhere.
