Black rims just mean less polishing in the Spring time. I definitely don't like them, but everyone's got their own tastes.

Yep paccar, dead idle. It usually passive regens after sitting overnight. If I sit longer then I have to do a manual regen. Today it smoked significantly more than normal and its pulling a lot better than normal. I'm at 78k gross and pulling mostly in 12th instead of 11th like I normally do.

When I head back out after i get home I'll try idling at closer to 1100 and see how it does.

My company was using MX-13's from 2012 till last year. Dead idling just clogged the DPF on almost every truck if it idled over night, and most drivers started their day with a 1-1.5 hour long manual regen.

It was suggested at some point to high idle them up to 1100-1300 (also recommended by Paccar if idling), and it solved almost all the problems... after the DPF's had to be pulled off and cleaned around 200-300k miles.

They aren't bad little motors when free of those choking devices (they'll pull B-trains pretty good) but are gutless if set at anything less than 510/1750.

I like shine and chrome as well. It speaks to having pride in your ride. That to me, gives the impression of someone that has pride in their self, their work, and their life.

Any time I do a manual it's usually about a half hour. Mines at 455 and does pretty good with the 12 speed. I've driven them with 10s and they are ok just couldn't run in 10th unless it was flat.

I also run it up to 1700 before shifting and it rarely struggles to gain speed vs shifting at 1500 like it wants to.
