I have a few from home built ones to a Yuneec Typhoon H. The one I carry in the truck is a DJI Mavic Air, it packs away nicely in a small case and doesn't take up a lot of room which is important for me because I need the room for cooking appliances.
If you go way back a few years in my posts you'll find drone shots that were done before you could go to the store and buy a drone. Those were taken with home built ones using gyros and accelerometers out of Wii controllers. I'd mount a GoPro on them set to take a picture every 5 seconds, fly around then go through a few hundred pictures till I found the shot I was looking for. I got tired of that so I added a 5.4ghz video transmitter to the drone, a ground receiver with a 7" tv so I could see what the GoPro was seeing. Still shooting pictures every 5 seconds but at least I could "frame" the shots I was looking for. Now with the DJI I connect a cell phone to the controller and can see what the camera sees then I take the picture or video that I want. The leap forward in technology on them over the past 5-6 years is mind blowing.

I know it's difficult to take a clumsy oaf of a guy who plays a fool acting like a Moose seriously and I can understand why. I can respect that. I can only hope that you understand how much I'm wanting to help you by even joining this particular conversation. It would be far easier for me to just stay quiet and not get involved with it at all. You have been on here for long enough to know that there are way more people reading along with the threads in here than the one's who actively join in and participate, for whatever reason they have.
That willing activity alone says something about the people in here.
You're also smart enough to figure out who is giving out the good advice and who's not. Separating the wheat and the chaff is a chore that is seldom finished.peterbilt_2005, BigBob410, Feedman and 23 others Thank this. -
I didn't mean to exclude Catalina Flyers post, it just took me a very long time to compose what I said. No offense intended.
