There’s a lot of aspects to being a man, I can quote parts of the green book chapter and verse but it’s doesn’t govern me. When I secure a load I do it based on what I feel is safe and practical, when I’m done it always exceeds requirements and I have no trouble with the DOT.

However part of being a man is knowing when to keep your mouth shut. Just because you (the generic you not you personally Six) put every chain available on a load and I don’t doesn’t make you superior nor does it put you in a position to judge. I get worn out on the constant criticism without real justification.

I can hold my own in about any situation and I’ll help if asked but I don’t feel it’s my place to teach the world unsolicited. Just my thoughts.

I agree with you, things I screwed up years ago that other people have long forgotten haunt me. Makes us better I guess.

Walking around the shops in Gatlinburg I saw a sign with John Wayne on it, it said “courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway”. I like that.

All firehouse is laid with male thread going in and female threads going out. Lost in the dark smoke and you find a hose line you always know which way to get out. As the old timers said "Just remember, Males run in, females run out". I can't say all the times in a hot dark situation that you never got scared because thats a lie. But a little courage and a lot stupidity goes a long way when a stranger is in need.
