I have two ford350 19 and 16
Two 40ft trailers
I’m leased to a company I Pay them 8% dispatch and 5% factoring total load pay drivers 30% total load
I’m working on getting cdl in the meantime I’m barley making enough to pay to keep trucks rolling any advice
I’m 23 years old I have no experience I just dove into this sink or swim attitude
Any books links advice am I paying to much factoring and dispatch
It’s has only been a month in a half is it a slow time of year for hotshots ? I’m just kinda stressing out because if anything was to happen to trucks they are not making enough money to have emergency money for repairs I’m just making enough to pay all expenses for trucks and fuel for the next week I’m not expecting to get rich it’s a long term investment just want to know if I’m doing things the right way thank you all for your time and responses
Please help advice input, is this the slow season for Hot Shots?

It takes a large fortune to make a small one in trucking.
Two million dollars down to 200,000 in short time. I am not kidding. Money makes all this go around. When you don't have any, you don't get to go around anymore. Savvy?
One solution is to build savings any way you can. Always. If that means giving up a expensive hobby etc then do it. I don't know you from Adam. But you are holding a business tiger by the tail involved in something that is big enough to tear you up if you don't watch it.
Holidays are a tough time for some parts of trucking, It is a time when I get to stay home, like when I was on blacktop paving. No one does that in winter. So we park it all and go home for a few months having made sure we have savings built up for that.Eliteventures3 Thanks this. -
But a life jacket on and expect the worst

Here is some advice for ya. Your always going to be broke if you keep giving your money away.
Here is some more, INSTANT 5% raise if you quit factoring. -

No, You just have to wait on your money. Usually 30 days but every one is different.
You have 2 trucks I see, I assume you drive 1. Your giving up 43% on 1.
If you don't drive one, your done at 57%. You will never survive. Everyone is making money but you.Eliteventures3 Thanks this. -

I have factoring and I pay 3%.. I'm willing to lose 3% to get paid everyday. Some guys aren't willing to do that. just like landstar when you lease to them you give up 35% right off the bat...so your giving 30% to drivers and then your giving 8% to dispatch, 5% to factoring and probably another % to be leased onto them. So your giving almost half away. I'd say get your own authority. Get rid of dispatch, get a better rate on factoring. I do my own dispatching, it's not hard just make phone calls.
