Best states to call “home” for OTR truckers

I'm 99% sure I know where you are at in beautiful (sarcasm) NY. I spent six years there and I'm not missing it at all. I got out last year and I don't miss that life one bit. I'm originally from the South and I would echo what some people are saying here. Life should be a lot easier and cheaper for you there, I'm partial to the South East. GA, NC, SC in particular.

I know the program your in too, I'm kicking myself for not doing it.

From one vet to another, good luck brother/sister. Work hard, stay on the straight and level. If you do that civilian life is a breeze.

 

OTR as I'm not really concearned with home time and don't want to pay any rent.

 

I live off of I81 in VA small coal town... great for home time and you can always find loads... now if your not interested in paying rent just get the immigrant starter kit... beat up ole freightliner, duct tape, sandals, backpack, khaki shorts, sunglasses, and buy your door lettering from Lowe's.. once you do all that you will never have to pay rent ever!!

 

It's not Pennsylvania.....I can tell you that.
