Iraqvet tex - Thanks for the input. I got reading some of the threads on one of the stevens forums. While in Driver training you are paid only 350 week. A trainer was on there and said that they did away with the dumb & dumber program. Believe two student drivers had wrecked and were killed. I agree with you, there seems to be more bad than good. What a shame, they had double bunks too.

ccolvin - How are you liking CRST? Where are you training at? Do they take new students or do you have to go through their program? I was also looking at Roehl. Seems like a very good company, just not the best lease program. Sorry if I have gotten of the "Central" theme, but I will end with that. Central is still one of my toop choices. Like I said, a friend of mine started driving for theme in Nov. 08 and he says he is maintaining the miles between 2500 - 3100 a week. He is now a O/O. Can you choose your traininer? THanks.

If you know a trainer you can request then!!

All Central trucks have Bunks! If you are sleeping and the truck is moving you WILL be in the bottom Bunk, Just throw a sheet or blanket over your trainers bed lol.

1bad got a great trainer. His trainer believes in taking a bath. However he got stuck w/ some one in the jail cell ie bunkhouse, that didn't shower for a week. Till 1bad went and complained to one of the instructors to talk to the guy. Come on we are all broke when we start this thing but a bar of soap and a toothbrush and toothpaste is cheap. LOL
I just don't get why people won't shower!!!!!!!!!! My husband would shower 3 times a day if he needed it.

Thanks for the PM and support last night Jess. I truely just needed to vent w/ someone glad it was you!:biggrin_25519:

Ok gonna try and catch a nap before softball practice and see if I can get this migraine to go AWAY!!!!!!

Yea the team thing sucks but I already found me a good codriver that lives in the same town I do so the first year should be good. Tomorrow is the last day of learning and Friday we test.

Sent my online APP into Central and was greeted with a prehire for CDL school by a recruiter.. However, I have my CDL with multiple endorsements. Is this a "sign" for how much attention to detail is paid?

If you have less than 6 months driving experiance, they will probibly (Will) have you go out with a trainer anyway. Plus I don't think they are hiring experianced drivers at the moment. Just students.
I had driven a truck on and off locally for many years, of course that counts as 0 experiance for an OTR company. So I still had to take there refresher course. It was 2 grand, with them paying part and me paying part for 8 months.
I was at the school for a week, went to orentation, got with a trainer for a maybe 2 weeks, then on my own.
I did not learn much of anything the entire time that was really new. Though I did need to learn how they wanted there paperwork done. How to use qualcom, and the new log rules. Since the last time I had run a log was 1992.

    NukedNative Thanks this.

The mysterious JJRanch is Checking in. To answer all questions.

They are only hiring students at this time.

When i started with Central I had a CDL with all the Endorsements as well but i had not drove in 6 yrs. i had to do the yard skills and driving test and go out with a trainer before going solo.

I now train for central and i really enjoy what i do. JJ
