Detroit 60series DDEC III weirdest breaking up/misfire/smoke?!?!

did you ever figure this out i have 2 trucks both detroit 12.7 doing the same thing?

 

i have a truck doing the same thing. weirdest thing was it ran fine in the early mornings with its really cold outside soon as it starts to warm up the issues is persistent

 

I had the same symptoms as the OP. Injectors are good fuel pressure is where it should be. We checked everything on the fuel system and they all checked out. When we went to test the charge air cooler, the clamp on the hose from the cooler to the intake manifold was loose. We tested the cac and it was good, tightend up all the clamps on the motor and that solved the breakup/misfiring. We had a good laugh as well.

 

I had an ecm factory programmed at Detroit and then sent to Erich at serious 60 and it came back and does this. With park brake on revs perfect. With park brake off, it’s random, if you mash throttle it just blows white smoke and misses. Sometimes you can rev it up slow.

 

I know its an old post, but did you figure this out? I know a lot of these have the same problem.
