My Dad had a KW cabover with power steering that didn't work. Tried everything and never did get it to work. He wished he didn't have power steering a few time with that truck. If you ever had PS quit working before you know what he was saying.

Actually, power steering that doesn't work, is harder to turn than manual. My Pete had center point steering, and that helped some.

These threads always crack me up. Someone states a preference they have and asks a question. Most reply to tell them why it’s a bad idea. Just like the guy a while back asking what companies had a certain model of Volvo truck because that’s what he wanted to drive. It’s their preference. I don’t see why what other people want to drive bothers so many.

If the poster is well experienced, he probably wouldn't be asking, he'd know who does have them and who does not, and hopefully know what he's getting into and giving up. I'm concerned it could be a new driver who doesn't know any better, and doesn't really know what their options are and the pros and cons of the options.

Kinda like the thousands of drivers who fought eLogs and fought eLogs for many years, then went on them for a year because they had to, then won't give them up.

If the OP has driven both, and wants to return to the hoods. Fine and I apologize for offering my 2 cents. I ran hoods for the first half of my career and I would NEVER go back to one as long as I have to continue going to the places I currently go to. Trucking is difficult enough without asking for more problems

Sometimes the only way to learn you don’t want something is go and find out for yourself. If he tries it and it’s not for him there are thousands of other companies that will hire him.

Or you could just answer the man’s question and leave the load of bull in your own trailer.

They pay .55 cpm and .60 if you're hauling a hazmat load. I make pretty dang good money here.

New to the term aero cab..i thought with trucks having front air leafs and air bagged axles the ride would be amazing! Anyways i drive a 15 cascadia.
Also wouldn't mind a shot at a Freightliner classic or xl. The cascadia is nice...it was really designed with the driver in mind. I like the the joy stick on the steering column is multi functional. You dont have to reach all the way to the dash to turn the jake on you just joy stick down.

I knew about tmc, but they are getting rid of most 379s for 579s? About when i decided i was going to finally pursue trucking Tmc was on my radar. A friend told me about them. I've done some research and have heard that nicer equipment could mean less pay...
