Same thing just started happening with my engine. I even thought it was bad carma reading that post. But as I started looking at it today, I think I found the problem. And much cheaper to fix too. Looks like the spring holding fuel filter in that see thru cup was put in wrong way last time i had oil changed. Filter is kinda wobbly and i see ocasional air buble . As i am due for next oil change soon, I hope it will fix it.

As a VERY belated update, my problem ended up being a bad exhaust pressure sensor. I still have the original metering solenoids, and haven't had any rough idle issues since the sensor was replaced.
dustinbrock, mrtrdrvr and Pappa Bear Thank this. -
How did you find out it was the exhaust pressure sensor? Did it throw codes?
-
Found it when I was having some other work done. Needed a new CAC, some A/C work, and a check of the fuel system. Right after the codes from the previous work was cleared, the code for the Exh press sens was thrown. As soon as it was fired up after the sensor was replaced, the idle was smooth as it ever was.
Pappa Bear Thanks this. -
Hey I was wondering guys about this fuel actuator on the ISX pump is it possible that can be intermittent and working one second and then 30 minutes later not work very good
-
Yes, they start to gum up. There is a video on Youtube I think of someone taking one apart and cleaning it.
