I'm game. Currently getting the shaft by Tru north not paying for repairs even though part that caused engine failure was covered under warranty.

    Andy146 Thanks this.

True North is a pack of theiving trolls. And the dealerships know it. Going through an injector problem now and they wanna skip out on the repairs. I'm new to the game so I wasnt away of the scam but I'm hip now and will never buy anothe 3rd party warranty again. Best pocket that money to use as you see fit for future repairs.

Thank you for submitting your estimate and associated information. You have identified the initial cause of failure "The injectors have become unseated from the stainless cups and were chattering causing air to get into the fuel system." In accordance with the limited Warranty Agreement, section K, subsection i, “Damage resulting from the failures of related components but not limited to: …injector seals, cups or tubes…[is] not covered.” Therefore, the claim for repairs for VIN AN291899 is non-covered.

This is the crap they emailed to me and the shop. SMDH. If I wasnt told that I had to get the warranty to get financing for the truck or if I had of known then what I know now I would of told the sales guy to shove that warranty up his pee hole

Gotta throw my 2 cents in about UnTrueNorth... I purch. a Volvo that seemed to have a problem when I drove off the lot. I asked the dealer if he 'fixed' the problem. He said, mechanics found no problem. Plus, you can always use your 6 mo. TruNorth warranty if there is a problem. Me being a believing person... drove my new/used truck deadhead from Fontana to West Texas oilfields. First load pulled, I found it had a bad injector... Volvo dealer said, "WONT FIX IT TILL THEY APPROVE IT"... thinking "no problem", I begged him to fix it first... NO DEAL he said, he's familiar with they're games to NOT PAY... SURE AS HELL, THEY FIXED IT, CALLED UNTRUNORTH FOR PAYMENT, 2 DAYS OF BICKERING & PROOF OF REPAIR BEFORE THEY PAID TO FIX AN OBVIOUS WARRANTEEd ENGINE PROBLEM!!!
Now a new problem with my Volvo, I know I'm better off paying cash. IE; forget the North BS!!!! Hell to get em to pay for obvious repairs!!!

I just completed my 5th claim with TruNorth. Over all i think it is great company . My biggest hang up with them is the delayed responses . A 6 hr job took a week to get paid .

Long story short . Required information questions kept comming and answered promptly . One response every 24 hrs unless you called them .

So but my claims have been on a maxxforce 13

    1 Dozer valve
    2 High pressure fuel pump
3 Oil cooler/exhuast manifold leak . Covered oil cooler not leak . ( dont cover gasket failure)
4 EGR cooler (this is the work thry just paid for)
The other claim was a question i asked if they covered a part , and it was not . which was anticipated . But counts as a started claim .

Read the warranty . Understand the warranty. They do pay. And. Quickly, once all the information is collected .

Follow the process .Talk with the shop before starting the claim .

You should know if it is a covered item based on the warranty.
    Then you must:

    1. Give the shop permission to diagnose the problem. Understand if you dont know this is covered or not. You will be responsible if it is not covered.

Pay to hook the computer up and see what the issue is first, before proceeding further.

If the problem is a covered component .

    2. The shop must:
    A. pull the health report
    B. Provide Pictures of the failed part
    C. Provide Intial cause of failure
    D. Provide Progression to break down
    E. Provide a Detailed estimate of parts and labor

Do not try and get around this it will lead to non payment.

The shop can not proceed any further until approved or TruNorth can deny the claim .

    Once aproved they:

    1. complete the work.
    2. Road test.
    3. Obtain a post repair Health Report
    4. You pay your deductible and any non covered items . (they didnt cover $54 in freight charges for parts last claim)
    5. Shop sends invoice showing total charges your payment and the balance owed.

Payment is ususlly by credit card unless it is over a certain amount . If it is, then they over night a certifed check

If you are missing any information it slows it down .
This was the reason why it took a week .

My local dealership was not in their data base. They wanted copies of the business lic and tech certifications. Shop provided DMV numbers and said that's all we got .

I had to take the initiative and take pics of the dealership. Their posted DMV SIGNS all businesses have to post their licenses and i group emailed costomer service at international to get tech certs. Which never came but the dealership number seemed to appease them .

Dealerships and shops shy away from 3rd party warranties. For this reason. Remind every one to be patient.

So what happened with unTruNorth? They are screwing me over right now and I'm trying to get an attorney. I joined this forum just for this post. I have failed rings on my pistons and the shop where my truck is stranded up in Avoca, IA said it will cost $17k, because the mechanic said that the EGR cooler could have caused excessive heat it may have damaged the rings, now they are saying a related part is the cause why they won't pay. I replaced the EGR cooler as soon as the check engine light told me it was bad, I think this company is very dishonest.
