    Kentucky,

Koch seems like a good company for me. I went through their web site, and clicked on their 'Career' page, but the page won't seem to open. So, I was wondering if you could refer me or something. I have 6 months OTR exp, w/ 1 accident (which was a minor, due to backing of course), let me know if you can help me out, man.
    Thanks

    Yeah I will try ..

I am doing the comunication of the KOCH stuff through the thread that GOOSE started called
KOCH ORIENTATION ... (in the favorite companies section)

Check that thread out and let me know what you think about KOCH and I can give you some pointers I got SOME connections there but I cant bend any rules really ...

Let me also know more about your accident
    1. how much damage $$$
    2. Injuries ??
    3. Do you have any tickets - (seatbelt, moving viloations)
    4. Are you a FELON (probally not but need to know sorry to ask)
    5. In your accident did you get a ticket or a citation even a warning?
Please answer theses and also I will need to know just how many Jobs you have had in the last 6 months driving and for the last 3 years.. (in general)

I was on the phone last week with them with GOOSE getting him set up but they are tightening up on the qualifications and whom they hire and the turn over is going down . It is high right now but it is strictly due to weeding out LOTS and I mean LOTS of bad apples . They have seen they can get a better quality driver right now in these times than before and are taking advantage of it.

You do meet the requirments at a glance but answer my questions and I will try to assist you if I can I am gonna copy this post on the KOCH ORIENTATION THREAD ALSO..

This is also where I will feild your further questions about KOCH

    Chat soon ..

    Ky24:yes2557:

I will help you all I can but need you to be truthful in answering the questions . They respect me there and I dont want to tarnish my reputation with those folks they have been good to me in the past.

    And before anyone asks ..
NO, NO, & NO I do not drive for them I did in the past, No I DO NOT get anything out of this . AT ALL NOTHING

You can ask GOOSE whom was just up there . I get nothing but satisfaction of helping out a fellow driver. That is 100% the truth..

Sorry about the long wait, man. Thing's been crazy here.

To answer your question, in regards to the accident...

    1. I was charged $500 for minor damage, which ended up being paid-off.
    2. There were no injuries.
    3. I have a few tickets on my record, I had one seat belt, one moving violation, license was suspended, I think there's a couple more. This was before I got my CDL.
    4. Not a felon, thankfully.
    5. I don't recall getting a ticket, the police came by and I just filled out some form, and that was pretty much that.

Last 6 months, I worked for Covenant Transport all the way through...

    Past 3 years, I worked 3-4 jobs.

Let me know if this helps......

Hey KY24. You still running good? Things seem to be normal for me but I still see a lot of trucks sitting at the terminals. Heard they closed Nashville down. Drivers I talk to mostly complain about lack of miles and extended sitting at home on breaks. You still happy or is the honeymoon over.

Yes, this is a somewhat accurate post. As a former Superior driver I would describe their tractors as stripped down bargain basement models. Yes the benefits are good. With Superior Carriers each terminal operates independently, thus no recruiting dept. If you hire on at one of the larger volume terminals, you can make good money. I worked out of the Springfield, Mass terminal. $1500.00 one week $400.00 the next. Just no consistency. I left after 1 1/2 years of service.

    Hey WSY & Kentucky....

I plan to be moving to the western PA region at the end of this year, to a town called New Castle, north of Pittsburgh. Upon going through the locations on the Superior website, I found that the nearest terminal is at Karns City, which is about 50-60 miles east of New Castle.

Have you guys ever been to this terminal ? What has been your experience out of this terminal ? Is this a busy freight area for them ? Do they offer any local work here ? Where are the nearest loading points, and who are the main customers in this area ?

I understand that you may not be able to answer all my questions, but I'd really appreciate it if you would give me atleast some information.

    Thanks in advance.

Karns City is a great place to be. Loading facilities are in the terminals backyard. Staff and managemnet are great.

Calument/Penreco and Sonneborn (Sun Chemical) are the local loading points. A few other shippers are scattered amongst the hills of Western, PA. Don't know about local. One of Superior's larger terminals. Narrow, winding roads with steep grades to get in and out of KC.

The cost of living for Western PA is among the lowest in the nation.

Hazmat Environmental has a terminal near New Castle. If you have 5-years of experience you may want to look into them. Their pay package is outstanding.

You are right about Hazmat Environmental. Their pay and benefit package runs circles around just about any other company I've seen posted on this entire site. Good or bad. Great find!

Hopefully, some will be able to take advantage.

From HazMat's web site hiring requirements:

    • Be at least 25 years of age
    • Possess a valid, current driver's license for the class vehicle he/she is to operate
    • Have a minimum of five (5) years verifiable experience operating the class and type of vehicle he/she is to drive
    • Possess a high school (or equivalent) education
Do you know if class and type means that you have to have 5 years pulling tankers or 5 years on a tractor trailer?

    Thanks!
