First of all i think it is extremely disgusting to be around smokers.
Second i commend ANYONE who attempting to stop, good for you! I know it is extremely difficult but you will appreciate your effort down the road!
Now my opinion is this, if you are in a COMPANY truck i agree with no smoking in them. Why should i, a non smoker, get into a company truck, whether it be your assigned truck or not, and sit in the stinking truck and work thru it. It is the COMPANIES TRUCK!!!!! We all have to share it. Even if you are in it 24/7, still companies truck.
What if after a year you are in it they give you a new truck, now someone has to sleep in the smelly truck. And they smell will NEVER go away. Smke bombs, cleaning, all that stuff doeesn't work.
Don't like it? Then buy your own truck, roll up the windows and suck it all in!

I also like the LAW that you cannot smoke in any PRIVATE vehicle if a child under 15 is in it, best LAW ever.

It seems homosexuals are more tolerated these days. "Not that there's anything wrong with that".

Smoking does not just affect the smoker, We all have to deal with it. While you believe you have the right to smoke. I believe I have the right to not breath your smoke, smell your stink, or deal with the butts left on the ground.
If you smoke inside a vehicle you ruin the vehicle, the tar and nicotine coat everything, gets into the A/C vents, upholstery etc...
If you own the truck its your right to destroy it. But if its a company truck your causing damage to company equipment. I wont drive a truck after a smoker has had. If that means leaving and driving for someone else, I would. The company I drive for understands that I take care of my equipment and appreciate it .
Smokers in general have as much class as the guy tossing his pee bottles out on the off ramps. You go into a resturant where others are eating and lightup, then tell me your are as concerned for there rights to clean air as you want us to be for your right to smoke. Smoke if you want, I dont care just take it outside, and cleanupo your own mess.Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Its 19 here (the legal smoking age)

I am a smoker and agree with most of the anti smoking policies, but I am kinda on the fence with this one yes a truck smells when you smoke in it it even bothers me after a while. There has to be a way to keep the smokers and non smokers separated, say only hand down smoked in rigs to smokers and vise versa maybe even a quit smoking incentive that only non smokers will get dibs on the new equipment

i moved from alberta 2 years ago, and live in saskatchewan now.
that law about not smoking in a vehicle was revised. here are the new quidelines
that you can not smoke in a workplace vehicle with a passenger.
if you are the only one in the vehicle you can smoke
if your passenger is a smoker you can not smoke
i travel through out alberta all the time and have never been questioned about this. and never heard of anyone getting a ticket -
Pay attention RoadMedic, any law which is perceived to be bad or stupid is allegedly passed by a liberal democrat.
