Almost the first thing asked is:

    How will you be paying?

Thats weird I've never been asked that and I've had to go under emergency circumstances several times, I never got asked how to pay I always just got an INSANELY large bill in the mail a few days later.

Also, the news story can be seen here: http://www.wctv.tv/home/headlines/40905467.html He was 64 years old, and he had two dogs in the truck. The dogs were NOT amused when police tried to get in. Animal control had to use creative methods to get them out so the police could get in.

Also in the above video news clip the Schneider truck you see at the end would be us -_-

    That is sad.

IROCUbabe: Hate to hear you had cancer , that is some scary stuff. I worked for a GYN/Oncology department at a hospital and it was too upsetting so I changed jobs.

Hope you are doing well and stay healthy.

I had some bleeding this year, turned out to be a very large pre cancerous polyp. Without health insurance I may not have seen my kids grow up all the way.

No, these have been supported by both parties.

One is a Catholic hospital and the other a non profit. BOTH have received major monies over the years from the political parties. It is intended to show that the medical profession is no longer about helping people.

Michelle Obama has nothing to do with this.

Something really needs to be done about this . If you have insurance the docs are like yahoo , it is like a medical credit card to them. We have BCBS and when we go to the doctor you can see they actually seem happy because they are about to charge you out the wazoo. If you do not have insurance you get substandard care at best.

When I worked for OUHSC which is a Oklahoma state funded hospital and medical school and our cancer patients on Medicaid did not get respect and most died because they do not try as hard with these patients as they do with the patients that have major medical insurance.

I have my OK state insurance license and it completely makes me sick to see people without insurance treated so badly.

Hopefully the president and congress will do something about this but I am not holding my breath. Seems like most presidents state they are going to do something about the healthcare system then it just fades away.

My insurance coverage is under my wife's Federal Blue Cross/ Blue shield . Yes , every time I see a new doctor the first thing they ask for is what coverage I have . I was just in the hospital and got treated like royalty . We got the statement for surgery from the hospital - over $32,000 almost 100% covered by insurance except a couple of copays for lab tests .
Last November my stepson was in a hospital dying of an antibiotic resistant blood infection . After he was in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks the hospital staff told my wife he wasn't going to improve . He was covered by Medicade and they would only cover 3 weeks if there was no improvement . He would have to leave the hospital . The only option my wife had was to get help from a hospice to rent a bed , oxygen concentrator , and suction machine and bring him home where he died 2 weeks later .
