I brought this up with my company several years ago, and they were quick to backpay all drivers and start paying going forward. They knew they would loose if it went to court.

And yes, I’m strictly linehaul, and I get OT every week.
BigHossVolvo Thanks this. -
@BigHossCummins Lol I did not know you were in heyl. lol I hated their eld when it read out messages for you when you were driving. The driver manager scene was beyond me. Never really enjoyed good communication w him. He would say something and then expected driver to connect the dots but to be fair, they were never late in paying.

I don’t understand how the math works out at $1.07 per mile.
spyder7723 and CoyoteExpress Thank this. -
I gotta give it to TransX, the base rate is $1.08/mile + $0.07/mile safety and I believe there is a fuel and hustle bonus in there too, grand total is around $1.20/mile + fsc.
Sounds like trash right? Well here is where it makes sense, the deductions are 0; and the fuel is cheap as hell on their cards.
You can make $1.90/mile somewhere else, but then they nail you for plates/insurance/Pro Rate/benefits/holdback and whatever other ######## they come up with. Plus they don’t have the fuel cards/volume discounts of TransX, so you get nailed on that.
Lastly, TransX never slows down, and that’s something we need to really think about up here now. (The last 3 months have sucked).
However, it’s TransX, and it’s gonna be some ########! No two ways around it, so you just gotta decide if you can handle the BS, to make the stability worth it.
The power only contractor I worked for made a killing off them, it’s only when they got trailers and started working with brokers, that things went to ####.
Gotta know your cost per mile, and what your net profit after deductions is, then see if you’re doing better or worse than TransX.Last edited: Dec 16, 2018

@BigHossCummins I’ve applied at Caneda. They’re paying $1.65 per mile and offering most of the other services transx is offering like paying for insurance plates etc. The HR rep says most of their work is pin to pin and some ltl from here to usa. 2 stops max. Oh and 25 to 30 cents discount on fuel, so yeah, not bad I guess. Let’s see..
BigHossVolvo Thanks this. -

@BigHossCummins I’m applying for a FAST card because they pay a 5 cent premium for having one. So including the premium it’s $1.65 and $75 for drops.
I’ve sent my HR rep a quick email to confirm these numbers and list deductions that I should be aware of. I’ll shoot you a pm as soon as I get a reply. CheersBigHossVolvo Thanks this. -
@BigHossCummins PM sent

Trivee, Lucas, both small. Both out of calgary, both run reefer which is cali awesome.
I was looking at both when I was planning on switching from trans X when they were starving me for miles on Western North America Long Haul. I see all you guys talking great about transx, but I was working for them last year and they're not that great. If I wasn't willing to do them their favors and do 3-day 1100 mile Rounders in Ontario for them they would refuse to load me for days on end. Their shop kept me shut down for nearly 10 days for Apu and coolant troubles on a piss poor installation they did on my equipment. And every time I turned around they were trying to get me to run local short-haul. my first while with them was great I was averaging 13500 miles each month. Then the planners tried to screw with me and I stone walled them they responded by keeping my miles at 9700 each month.Last edited: Dec 22, 2018
