There was an ad on the local craigslist looking for a tow truck driver. Part of the description said that it involved being on call for 24 hour periods.
Another person answered the ad and told them that that was not a legal situation because of HOS rules.
What would be the answer?
Being "on call"

I don't think you would be required to go by HOS or log anything if you stayed within the allowed radius which is what 150 air miles of your operating terminal?
-
When you are operating in state under the mile rules, you are governed by the clock of 12 hours.
It falls under the 10,000 lbs rule. Does present an interesting question. Because wreckers require a cdl, but no log. The hour sheet is going to be a problem.lobshot Thanks this. -

Ok I have to hit the sack. I gotta force myself to sleep
because of this time change and my lazy butt sleeping in. Sorry but I could not find anything regarding tow trucks in the Federal but Ohio state said their drivers must follow the Federal dot regulations of HOurs of service so I am sure there is something in there
