you will need to run the grounding to the antenna bracket

You can use some old coax to run from the frame to the bracket. Just strip back, and use both conductors of the coax.

Did you ever figure this out yet? I've got an 04 myself and I can't figure it out for the love of Jesus. You'll get no better a ground than what I go going on.

Anybody know how to fix these trucks so you can mount the antenna on the mirror brackets?

I was in a Western Star that was a bi-ch to get working good. Actually i never got it "good", but got it working better.
I ran short ground straps as recommended and finally got SWR's alittle under 1.3, not great, but not bad?
I am currently in a 900B and radio tuned very easily. Mirrors are mounted directly to cab and i believe that is a big help.
Ground is just as important as power going out.
