excel is all over the US. The one in jersey charged an overtime fee along with a lumper fee...what a joke
-
I haul into Detroit Produce daily and it is a 30 dollar gate charge there as well

I just did a uturn the other day in a place I probably shouldn't have. 3 roads came together and thought I had enough room. Started the turn, ran off the road, muddy as heck, got stopped before the drives were off, was able to back up some, made the turn but the trailer swing caught the stop sign. All because the drivers direction said the sign I was looking for was on the right side of the road. Lesson learned. Alwasy look on both sides of the road for signs and never fully trust a drivers directions.

Also know the capabilities of your truck. For every action, there is always a reaction

used to haul water off the gas wells got directions to the well, wrong directions road was not wide enough for the truck mirrors hiting the tree limbs had to back out bout 4 miles dark, gravel road

The shag fee at meat plants doesn't go to the plants. The shag companies are a co. in theirown. The fee goes to pay for taking your trl. to the pallet dock, then to the washout and then to your door to get loaded and then to the loaded line.
The plants hire these companies so they reduce their liability of trailer damages and having to buy/lease yard mules and diesel fuel.
It's bull but they had those fees when we were at Monfort. We didn't have to pay them since we were leased to them but the fee has been around for along time. -
What does this have to do with the question of "shag fee"? You need to start a new question, How about"Look what stupid thing I did today!!!"

Man I've noticed a lot of this crap in Utah. No address or sign on business that receive freight from OTR companies. I don't know if they are just to cheap to put up the right signs, so arrogant they think that "everybody knows who, what and where we are," or just too dumb to know what a problem it causes for drivers. And too self centered to give a right rip.
Heh, heh. PITA at the time, but it sure makes for good experience!
HEY PAPPY! Ya don't sound so happy here!

Well darn. There I go following another driver's direction again. Guess I will have to start another thread, "stupid things I've done today"
