most stores get 2 general merchandise trailers a day. my dc stores get there trailers at 2pm and at 4pm. so if its 10am on the 20th of dec and they give you a 4pm load for the 21st. you would want to question that load. you cant get anything else like a backhaul until you have empty trailer.

 

Sometimes there is an empty pallet trailer, but, no empty trailer: so you can call the coordinator and that can become you backhaul to a DC...

 

I’m not sure: I’m just a lowly dedicated Walmart driver on contract to my DC. ( because I have a doggie) lol.. these guys on here can tell you better about the hiring status and process to become an actual Walmart fleet driver... good luck and Happy Holidays! And Merry Christmas!!!!!!

 

Oh yeah. And be extra careful to make sure you drop GM trailers on the GM side and Grocery trailers on the Grocery side: had to fix one of those, again, the other day... probably dropped by a dedicated: not a fleet driver, tho... I don’t ask anymore... LOL... I just do it: exercise; you know....

Why would they ever dispatch like that? Seems like a poor utilization of equipment.
