    Definitely get a lawyer
Appear in court if the lawyer request it
Did the cop do a DOT Inspection along with writing the ticket? Two different scenarios!
What is your companies policy on reporting traffic citations in company equipment?
No matter how this plays out, your company will find out about this once they do an annual MVR review. You may risk disciplinary action then for not reporting the ticket when you received it. Even if it is knocked down to a non moving violation which is unlikely because you're in a commercial vehicle doing 20 over the posted speed limit.

If that's the case I would just play dumb about their policy if they found out. That probably wouldn't work with a mega though so probably not good advice for most people. I've only had 1 ticket in my life and it was for 66 in a 55 with a hazmat vehicle. I actually reported it to my company immediately because they were a smaller company and I was confident they wouldn't do anything to me. I told them I was going to fight it. My boss told me it would be a waste of time and money and there was no point to fight it. I hired a local traffic lawyer who went to court for me (so I didnt have to miss a day of work) and got my ticket completely dismissed. The ticket would have been $225 and the lawyer was $150. So I actually saved money and my MVR by getting the lawyer. I have looked at my MVR several times and the ticket has never come up.

Many companies require you to report it when its received. Why not check the employee handbook or whatever you were issued for guidance?

I thought the speed limit is enforced when you’re physically past the sign? If he stopped you before the sign you can fight it I think.

If you just show up in court, they can make you come back, because the cop has to be notified to be there. In NJ once they made me come back 3 times before they dismissed it because the cop never showed. Then they sent the ticket to DMV saying I was guilty.I wound up having to go to the jurisdiction where I got the ticket to get a certified letter saying I was found not guilty.

You’re Employer is required to annually have a form signed by you stating any convictions for moving violations over past year. Till then keep quiet wether you win or lose. Chances are a lesser charge can be negotiated.Youre not guilty of anything until convicted period. Any other information is not accurate.

Been there, done that. And it’s more painful in the wallet in the long run. Especially if you’re out on the road and get shut down over it.
