I'd like to eventually get away from long term otr like I do now. So being in the right position let's you kinda have best of both worlds. Run a few quick runs then come home for a few days or a week.
If you could live anywhere for the best freight, where would it be?

Na, I still like cross country and getting out on the road, but I'd like to be in a batter location to get home a lot more often. I'm in FL now, it sucks to get out.. you have to take such a hit going home..
Being in a better location like say WI as example.. with reefer I can pretty easily get a $2k load out of there to say TN as example. I can then run a bigger money load out of TN to PA or Jersey then bounce back to Chicago or somewhere in the middle and go home. Go make some good money then go home for a week then repete.
Any of those mid west states you can do that with fairly easily.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -

I've done that for the last year and a half. I've saved good money by doing it, now it's time to move to the next step.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Hell no I'm not going any where near Baltimore... lol
I'm ok with a quick run into east PA, NJ or even up into the NE (no nyc) if the money is good but I hate getting down south of Philly and in the never ending mess..
I've done it enough Im ok at by passing a lot of the toll costs but I don't like going through the big cities over there.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
It matter where you live if you are leased to someone and can only haul for them... then you gotta pick and choose off of their load board... If you have your own authority then that opens up a variety of different brokers and many different lanes you can choose from...
Rideandrepair and crocky Thank this. -
No the money is on the east coast. But s9 is all the b.s. that comes with it.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
