Are we getting home for christmas?

I already put this on my blah blah thread. Didn’t see this one...Doh!

I’m happy to work the holidays. But I got back to the terminal this evening (Friday). Looked at schedule. Nothing until Thur. Then impossible turn around Friday.
I’ll push the Thur on Wed. Hope it works.

I think I’ll just go home tomorrow (sat). Then come back Xmas day(tue).
May very well do similar following week.
Home is a ten hour drive one way.

 

Was offered to have 4 days off. Nah man, my birthday is on xmas eve as well. That means I gotta drink 2x the amount, and then accept cards with the family. Sounds catastrophic! ...."Sorry guys, I am working on xmas and dispatch said If I dont, I get fired, please send your poorly designed Microsoft paint cards to this address"

 

Mine Will be at a TA.

 

I’m off duty until the 26th and so I’m starting in on the Bacardi.

 

Do they still have the Christmas dinner special ?

 

I am hoping so. But honestly i am just grateful i wont have to spend it at a Loves. Didn't wanna rely on Arbys for Christmas. Dinner.

Petro and TA usually decent food and selection even if you aren't going into the Iron Stomach.

 

Home and relaxing. But New Years I’ll be sitting in some random east coast truck stop.

 

I'll be on the road then too. Hopefully parked and not out dodging drunk drivers.

Last time I was crazy enough to try downtown Austin I walked past like literally 5 different brawls along 6th and a bunch of other hot heads getting busted by the cops.

I think it's those long islands those places serve in these giant jar looking things. UT frat bros and super gulp long islands dont mix well.

 

I have been home every Christmas since I started.

 

Probably a bunch of rowdy hipsters arguing about what brand of wool knit cap to wear during summer. Austin is the California of Texas.
