I would say:
Texas
Florida
Atlanta
NJ
NYC
in that order.
Chicago is far down the list.
Be careful around the Atlanta area next few days, DOT alert

Good. I'm heading that way right now. There nothing wrong with my truck and the company will pay me $75 for the clean inspection. I love DOT

To be honest, the only thing you really gain by using one more inside lane is an increased risk of traffic suddenly stopping, since there are fewer heavy trucks moderating traffic speed. More often than not, the right two lanes on Atlanta area interstates tend to be less congested and move better anyway. With obvious slow spots at interchanges of course. I've only been driving around here for 35 years, so what do I know?qbertsrevenge, Lepton1 and eek111 Thank this. -
I lived in Atlanta 20 years, but moved back to my hometown 9 years ago, so I'm not as up on things there anymore. That's why I asked. You're right about sticking to the right lanes, mostly. The only exception is 85 from 285 to the 316 split. It gets stupid around Jimmy Carter and Pleasant Hill, in the right lanes, especially northbound.RedForeman, stwik and bigkev1115 Thank this. -
