scuttlebutt on swift

Was told today by a friend at tracy freightliner that swift is returning 2000 tractors due to lack of frieght, and another company (schnieder?) is returning 3000 trucks, he did not know if they are letting any drivers go or just lose them through attrition, He then asked me if I was in the market for a cheap freightliner

 

Devil Dog, no idea what type they were, he was just joking anyway, he knows I aleady have my next truck already picked out and financing for it and he was not the dealer i bought it from but I stop in to pick up parts for my fathers liquid manure truck(they prefer not to have it in the work bays for some reason, I couldn't think of a reason why) and load up on free coffee, They were just talking about how the market is going to be flooded with used trucks again that they can not sell

 

What are we going to do with all their drivers, either make them lumpers or send them back to high school would be my choices

 

Sorry, I should not pick on the swiftys, everybody had to start somewhere and nobody was ever born with a steering wheel in their hands. I remember me getting razzed by the old-timers when I first started but then again that was with a 45' flat not the big 53' vans, big difference when you are learning

 

I imagine it would, I have no idea how many trucks they have but 2000(if accurate) must be a pretty big chunk. somebody said that they were day cabs but still thats alot
