Im really confused on this 60hr/7 day and 70hr/8 day rule. I currently run for a company mon thru friday (513 miles a night)and averaging 65hrs a week (not paid over time)in a day cab.
Is it legal? 65 hours a week 5 days a week, local, daycab.

You probably get paid by the mile and can only work/ drive 70 hours a week. You probably go home on the weekend or 34 hour off as the weekend

If the company regularly has trucks on the road 7 days a week then they can run the 70/8. If not they have to run the 60/7. That is the max hours you can work in that time frame.

dot doesnt regulate on duty hours. you can work 300 hours a week. you just cant drive past 70 hours. so in theory you can work 56 hours straight as on duty not driving. take 10 hours off duty or sleeper then drive 11 with 3 more hours on duty for a total of 70 hours.

also the company doesnt have to pay you overtime. its there choice if non union. theres no labor law stating that anything over 40 hours is overtime pay. maybe the us marshalls can help you better.
Jazz1 Thanks this.
