Well how is everyone doing now? Me dragging and staying at truck stops. Primes new layover policy is not sounding good.

Freight slow... big weeks, oddly enough, is only when I am trying to get home.

Im company and it isnt all that great right now. By the end of this week pay period.. I will have averaged 2053 miles per week.

First 4 weeks 8,442 miles total with 3 days at home.
2nd 4 weeks 7,720 miles total with 2 days breakdown
Last 2 weeks (ending with this week) 4,365 total. (Im heading home for break so this week will be almost 2700)

Thats the first 10 weeks of this year. I just got another .01 raise. So I am up to .35 per mile plus fule bonus.

For the first 9 weeks of the year almost 300 dollars in fuel bonus. A little over 6200 dollars gross pay... right now the average times 52 weeks is almost 36k for the year...

That said, with the economy the way it is, just dont know if the spring will pick up as it has in the past... praying it doesnt get worse.

I dont have much to complain about, I have a 500 dollar limit credit card, 80 dollar car insurance, 150 cell/broadband bill. So I dont do half bad out here... If you got a family to support, think long and hard about how much money will is it worth to be away from your family for at LEAST 4 weeks at a time...and then get 4 days with them.

just me and the wife. shes under contract for another year then she would be doing some trips with me so being away from family isnt a problem. and as far as pay goes if i can average 2000 miles a week we will be fine. thanks for the answers u2. i think im gonna take the 2 1/2 hour bike ride to springfield tomorrow to take a tour.

dude, sure hope it gets better for your trainer, them miles are solo on A GOOD WEEK, training pay plus the cost of the lease means no $$$ for the l/o. hope you guys start breaking at least 5000 so your co driver can make some money.

It's okay - freight is very region dependant. My last two weeks were really good, and I'd like it to stay that way - so we'll see. I'd say we're sitting a lot less than many of the other companies.

Best advice: Don't even think of going lease-op right now.

Update: Spent Monday 3/9 in Amarillo for an appointment at Freight Liner; got a load out on Tuesday to Little Rock. Dropped that Wednesday night. Thursday today... sitting - loading tomorrow night for delivery ASAP to Indianapolis. Looks like I'll have 2 34-hr restarts this week, and maybe another across the weekend. That will make this the crappiest week I've ever had.
