Past felony conviction. But obviously I'm not going to put all of my details out over the internet. I discussed my issue in detail w/ the TSA and they said I would have to request a waiver. I'm just wanting to know (from someone who has first hand knowledge of the process), whats involved? Thanks.

I am in the waiver process... basically you send them reference letters, a personal statement, employer reference letters, and documentation supporting why you feel you should receive the waiver and then wait for their answer.. They have 60 days to reply...I just wonder if anyone else had fine through the process and how long did it take for a response?

    TequilaSunrise Thanks this.

If you are on a deadline. What are you waiting for? Knowing anything about how the government works you have to know that you need to give them time.

I've submitted a application and I've returned my information requested and cover sheet as instructed I'm a fire arm by felon and it was in 2011 I was charged but my final court date was 11/2012 witch as of this year will be seven years in November but I started my sentence in county in 2011 no recent charges and the gun was my fathers used to hunt so no crime case do you think I have a chance a waiver

You hae been told by TSA you will have to request a waiver.

If you have been denied, check the TSA's HM Disqualification list to see if it specifically contains your specific Felony conviction.

As far as the net is concerned, you are already part of it. Due to your ISP being able to be subpoena by LEO for any reason for Billing Info associated with your particular computer's address attached to anything you type into the internet. Forever.

If you don't want to disclose the felony crime itself that's fine, it leaves us unable to help you further. Except to repeat like a broken record.

Things have changed big time since 9-11 and continues to evolve. HM is not the end of the world if you cannot get it. The United States decides, not you. Roll with it and do something else in trucking.
