OTR companys in NC?

Where did you find local work in Hendo? They needing more help? I'm heading to Iowa for orientation with TMC sun. I'm in brevard

 

I work at Manual Woodworkers in Hendersonville, we only have two trucks/drivers. The guy I replaced got another job in Fletcher and they needed someone fast and who would be there every day. I think they liked the fact that I could practically walk to work if my car ever broke down; that seemed to be an issue with the other guy.

We go and pick up fiber in Charlotte, yarn in Hickory and Spindale every day, and other supplies the company needs for whatever in Spartanburg, Traveler's Rest, Greenville, and two trips a month to Atlanta and two trips a month to Knoxville for a special product they use. I take a 48' trailer up to Gerton, NC up those two lane curvy mountains roads on Thursdays to their retail warehouse up there. The other driver doesn't want to do that, I think cause I have to unload the trailer with their forklift but it's no big deal, it kills half a day on Thursdays and I got a favorite place up there I eat lunch at, lol!

I hate that TMC closed their orientation facility in Columbia, that would have been a much easier trip for you than going all the way to Iowa! They got you on a bus or plane to get there?

I think it would be easy for you to get most weekends at home with them, I pass several of their trucks every time I make my Spartanburg run and a dozen or so of them it seems when I head out I-40 to Knoxville and back. You lucked up on that sounds like. Know exactly where Manual Woodworkers is, & know bout the lovely road from bat cave over to fairview. Years ago I worked for the dot & got the glorious job of pushin snow on 64 , 74, & 9. In fact spent all night on middlefork in a grader when the trans went out on it. Really for the last eight years been running equipment more than drivin, but have to move the equip myself.

 

You might want to call bcj trucking or mabe's trucking. bcj is in mt. airy and mabe's is in eden. Both have orientation in state.
