Ran that way for 4 months.
It really does work.
Takes a little fine tuning as to finding the right feel.

Of course , this teaming was done over Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado 3 times a week.....sooo ....that hammock idea would have sold tickets for amusement ride enthusiasts......!

The earplugs are to drown out the swearing that your co driver is going to be doing.......

I got a futon mattress on top of my thin truck mattress. It's nice.

The swearing My co - driver did was mostly due to the single - screw ltl' s that ignored the chain laws and got stuck on Wolf Creek......

I sleep on the top bunk. Then I have my booth I can sit at to eat or whatever. Makes it feel more like you have 4 separate rooms like a house. Driving room, kitchen (space between driving room and booth where refrigerator is) living room (booth), and bedroom (top bunk)

Memory foam mattress would help. Not regular foam but memory. It will help keep you in place. Teaming for 2 years also has left me with a life long habit of sleeping on my stomach. It’s not good for you but it keeps you from rolling forward or back.
If one of us does something bad a couple times like being jumpy on shifts or hits rumble strips we would get up and punch right in the balls. After about a week we both started driving smooth as glass.
Lastly what worked for us was a set of rules. We worked 6-6 no exceptions. None. You could not stop more than 15 minutes prior to switch time. If it’s your on duty time you are not allowed behind the curtain no matter what. Bring whatever you need for your shift up to the passenger seat. Even if you’re at a dock for 6 hours you are not allowed in the back.Lepton1 Thanks this.
