It may be idk. Doesnt matter to me. Ill carry them if we have to, but I'll never use them, and cant imagine Millis will ever want us to with how they are about shutting down in bad weather.

Took a couple weeks but I've read through the entire thread. I've been pretty much set on Millis since making the decision to return home from China a few weeks ago. I don't know for sure when I'll be back in West Allis, WI, but sometime this year, I'll be at Richfield for training, hopefully.
Some background. I've been in China nearly full-time since 2012 teaching English, my wife and I running a small school the last two years (nice income, very few hours), but not being exactly legal and China starting to get hairy, time to come home.
Dad did some truck driving, just box not 53 footers, when I was young and midway through college I thought seriously about getting into trucks. Instead, finished college and ended up in China. Stayed because of a girl or two.
Discovered Millis through Red Viking Trucker and Ryan N. "The Navigator". Some concerns raised and addressed for the most part in this thread. Big confusion is over the pay options, but I'll worry about that when i actually get to Millis. -
@Steelersjunkie I've seen you mention it a few times that maybe you should just stop posting in here. Hell, no. You started this thread and your experiences and advice is super valuable for the Millis family and new guys looking at Millis. Looking forward to gleaning more info and advice from the experienced guys here.
dwells40 and Steelersjunkie Thank this. -
Let me be the 1st to welcome you and tell you you've made a good choice . With that said, the Packers suck and I hate you....lmao jk man well just bout hating you...as far as the pay options go, run it by an accountant who knows your housing, dependant, income, etc situations better than us random know it all truckers on a web site lol. Feel free to ask any questions that come up. If you are based out of West Allis area there is a chance I could be your trainer if you/we wanted and the timing works for me. Oh an also if you dont smoke. Oh and also if you are preferably over 30yrs old. No offense if you arent, but my experience with the younger guys are their work ethic sucks and that doesn't fly with me lol. Again not saying all the younger guys work ethic sucks, but well the majority do.
You planning regional or OTR?dwells40 Thanks this. -
I'm planning OTR to start out. Got a little wanderlust as Steelerjunkies' dad did. I'm 31, will be 32 in October. No smoking, please! I've lived in a smoke filled country for 8 years now. Yeah, noticed you were getting Richfield guys so I hope the timing works out, whenever that is.
Work ethic. Hell yeah. In a way looking for a more intensive situation when I return to America, because the free time I've carved for myself here is eating away at me. Like I haven't earned it. Never felt like that working 40+ hours every week while full time in college.Steelersjunkie Thanks this. -
That wanderlust you mentioned is gonna get him in trouble, guaranteed. He's put himself in more precarious situations than any trucker I've ever met. After a while man, the universe will get sick of his blatant carelessness and smack him down a couple rungs. As much as I love him, part of me is kinda rooting for him to get busted because he's gotten away with too much for too long.
